The MLT Tensiometer is best used in situations where tensions above 30 centibars (kilopascals) are rarely expected, and where finer resolutions near saturation is needed. This instrument is also suited for conditions where rapidly changing moisture tensions need to be observed.

Such applications as:

Container media consisting mostly of materials such as peat, bark, sand, perlite, coir and vermiculite combined to form a mix which holds a large percentage of water and is relatively dry at 8 - 10 cb (kPa).

The special features of the MLT are its Gauge which has a full scale of 0 - 40 cb (kPa) in 1 cb increments
