A PVC spring check valve uses a spring-loaded disc to allow water to flow in only one direction, preventing damaging backflow in irrigation and other plumbing systems. When forward pressure exceeds the spring’s force, the disc opens; when flow stops or reverses, the spring snaps it shut, stopping reverse flow, siphoning, and water hammering.

A PVC swing check valve uses a hinged “flapper” or disc that swings open with forward flow and closes to prevent reverse flow (backflow) in your irrigation water systems.
