100 foot or 2000-foot roll of Hold Down Netting used in Frost Protection. Our netting is used to make Rock Bags, commonly for strawberries. The bags hold rock, which holds down your Frost Blankets, keeping them in place without the rips or tears that other methods cause in your blankets.
How do I use this Netting to make a bag?
Cut, Make a “Bag” and Fill
- Cut 4′-5′ of netting and make a bag by tying a knot in both ends
- Fill the bag with rocks. Use 3/4″ or larger size Large Gravel or Rocks.
- Space bags approximately every 10 feet along the edges of your cover.
What do the Bags do?
- They simply weigh down the covers, holding them in place. Covers can be easily blown away in light to heavy winds.
We highly recommend that you request regional recommendations from your extension office or local university. For the south, NC State University has years of research on planting, growing and protecting strawberry plants from pre-plant to harvest.
